Summary:

Jane Austen (Hathaway) is a young girl who wishes to be a writer while her mother (Walters) thinks otherwise. Although she is offered many marriage proposals she accepts none until the mischevious Thomas Lefroy (McAvoy) shows up and turns her world around.

At first she finds him ignorant and self centered but as she gets to know him, they start to flirt and eventually fall in love. Lefroy became the inspiration for Mr. Darcy in one of Austen's most beloved novels, Pride and Prejudice. Lefroy's relatives disagree with the match and threaten to disinherit him if he marries her.

Austen's mother also disagrees with the match for he will not be able to provide well for the family. As a result of this, Lefroy tries to convince his love to runaway with him. Review:
Much can be said about David Lynch but I think the mistake most people make is to think that he is trying to create a coherent and straight forward narrative structure. He is working on a subconscious level in his mind. The idea comes before the reason behind the idea. In many ways this is how art should be created because any other way will feel forced and pretentious.

David Lynch is not just trying to f*k with you. Its not meaningless and its not pretentious. If you've ever seen his interviews he is one of the most humble and soft spoken directors I've ever seen. Justin Theroux did a Q & A after my screening of Inland Empire and he described working with lynch as light hearted and fun. The complete opposite of what its like to watch some of his films which are often dark, terrifying, and disturbing.

Inland Empire is a sister film to Mulholland Dr. As my wife put it, "Watching Mulholland Dr. helped me to understand Inland Empire." They are two sides of the same coin. Lynch still seems to want to take a stab at the evils of Hollywood. His concern for the well being of actors is strong but this time instead of a new comer (Naomi Watts) he deals with one older actresses come back role and like Mulholland Dr. their are the evil producers behind the scenes and even the added possibility of a cursed set.

I am a huge Lynch fan. I don't find his films hard to understand. I am not a very intellectual person but Lynch's themes are so simple. The visuals are to be enjoyed on their own terms especially when they seem not to fit with the rest of the film. A lot of lynch's trademarks return, the dual personalities, time folding in on itself, gratuitous nudity, and another tragic murder mystery.

While this film does feel like a retread of Mulholland Dr. it also stands on its own especially since it contains a much more upbeat ending and perhaps four layers of storytelling,good luck figuring out which is which. He also continues to experiment with sound and even sings the vocals to a song in the film.

I got exactly what I wanted from Inland Empire. The downside to this is that Lynch is sort of repeating himself and I hope that doesn't mean he's out of ideas or perhaps Mulholland Dr. did not yet exercise his disdain for the studio system. The film is part murder mystery and part lucid dream. It has dream logic and has a lot of fun with some of its bizarre dialog and incredible visuals. This film also has much in common with Eraserhead in that he's completely free to explore his ideas. No one is telling him to shorten the film, cut out scenes, or that it doesn't make sense. Its uncompromising and truly art without boundaries.

My only other criticism is that the digital video is just ugly at times. When the shot is static the amount of detail in the picture can be incredible but when its hand held and moving around its grainy and looks pretty terrible. I miss the polished look of his older films but I guess that is going to be another thing that sets this movie apart from the others. I highly recommend this film to the Lynch enthusiast and to no one else. If you aren't in on the joke then I cannot imagine you leaving the theater happy after three hours of pure, free from concentrate, unpasteurized lynch. I went to see this with my wife and my best friend needless to say only I loved it. Take that as you will.

Timber Falls (2007) DVD Rip VoMiT

Summary

Mike and his girlfriend Sheryl travel from Virginia to Lake Kimbrabow State Park in West Virginia to spend the weekend hiking and camping in the woods. They ask for directions to the local guard that advises them to follow the Donner Trail or the Willow Creek Bridge; however, Mike meets the local Ida Forester in the crossroad that tells them that Timber Falls has magnificent landscapes and a wonderful waterfall and the couple decide to go to the place. They stumble with the troublemakers Brody, Darryl and Lonnie and Sheryl convinces Mike to get rid off the bullets of his revolver. They camp and in the morning Sheryl is abducted while bathing in a nearby lake. The desperate Mike seeks her, and finds a deranged fanatic religious family that needs them to procreate an offspring.

I think that if you are a kid, or an adult, but mostly a kid, you will totally and completely fall in love with this movie, like I have. Rise of the Footsoldier (2007) LiMiTED DVD Rip DoNE

Summary

Rise of the Footsoldier follows the inexorable rise of Carlton Leach from one of the most feared generals of the football terraces to becoming a member of a notorious gang of criminals who rampaged their way through London and Essex in the late eighties and early nineties. It is three decades of his life following him from football hooliganism, through to his burgeoning career as a bouncer, his involvement in the criminal aspects of the early 'rave' scene and subsequently to his rise to power as one of the most feared and respected criminals in the country. The story concludes with three members of his firm being brutally murdered in the infamous shot-gun slaying at Rettenden.

Welcome 2007 DVDRip

"Welcome", was certainly not a welcome change from the stereotype comedy of underworld dons making merry..It is a story about a guy who gets into trouble while looking for himself a wife. Its not only a trouble for him but for his entire family.

With Stalwarts like Paresh Raval, Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor, the performances are one thing which cannot be complained about...The script, has some abrupt tried and tested fundas..!! I still wonder what role was crafted for Akshay Kumar... His character was confusedly sketched to an extent that he is shown to be timid, homely guy at some time and bold at some other time...Some scenes have been stupidly pasted for the sake of making it a slapstick comedy which unfortunately makes the audience yawn..Katrina doesn't struggle much with her lines since she has hardly some dialogues to make...Akshay Kumar has acted well notwithstanding his sadly drafted and sketched role...Music is horrible!! Well in all a decent movie which has some witty dialogues !! I liked the witty dialogues...Especially sequences and conversations where Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor prove their acting prowess....

The script is something which I am not a great fan of.. Akhay Kumar\'s role was ill crafted...And some slap stick comedy scenes could have been easily edited..Editor should have seen Malaika Aroras stretch marks on her stomach in that item song..I feel he should have put his scissors there..

I would refrain from commenting on the story line since there needs to be a story to comment on !! I found that the movie lacked a strong story base...Some of the sequences would remind you of movies like Hungama but they merely remind you. It is no where even close to that league.

If you love vampires, you'll love Dracula's Curse. I've seen quite a few Asylum films and this one has to be the best one I've seen so far. The acting is solid and the characters are developed. The filmmaker is able to have a large cast without making it confusing and making each character count. There are no superfluous characters here (very important for the ending battle). The special effects and make-up effects are amazing to look at. AND it has a great story-line. I'm also impressed with the filmmaker's ability to not subject the viewer to the 'norms' of low-budget (and recently big-budget) horror films - such as gratuitous nudity and gore. Yes, this movie does have some of that, but it doesn't hit you over the head with it and allows you to not forget the story. There's no need to make excuses for this film given it's minuscule budget - it delivers!!! I was personally disappointed in Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula, and I think this was the movie it was supposed to be - sexy, entertaining and a great addition to the vampire lore.

But in order to see more from the book, their choice is either get elected president or kidnap the President of the United States. Which do they choose? It's obvious. The conspiracy then crosses to Mount Rushmore and they even mention the JFK conspiracy. Could Ben clear his family's name? Or will his family be known as the descendant of Abraham Licoln's murderer?
